It is a great honor for me to become President of the Asian-Australasian Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (AASSFN). I beg to inform you that the name of our Society has changed from ASSFCN to AASSFN. Functional Neurosurgery is steadily growing, and several new technologies have been developed. Recent advances in neuroimaging have begun to demonstrate the involvement of extensive functional and structural reorganization of neural networks within the brain. I expect that our society will contribute towards the continued development of Functional Neurosurgery, and towards our mutual cooperation and friendship.
